Lead the way

At the York Region Mental Health Community Care Centre (The Centre), our goal is to provide a community solution for crisis care, with a mission to ensure that someone's first mental health crisis is their last.

Person's arm over another person; showing support through tough time.

We believe

Together, we can create permanent solutions that solve the most pressing problems facing youth, adults, families and our community.

It’s possible to design and deliver excellent mental health and addictions care and make sure someone’s first mental health and/or addictions crisis is their last.

Under the collaborative leadership of the Canadian Mental Health Association York Region and South Simcoe (CMHA-YRSS) Branch, alongside our 20-plus partners and the Ontario Government, we are co-creating The Centre.

Project vision

Together, we will create a leading-edge facility

One that supports mental health, addictions, and community care, and welcomes individuals and families from across the region.

Scheduled to open in 2026, The Centre will be a 24/7 resource for individuals (12+) and families experiencing a mental health and/or addictions crisis, providing immediate and compassionate support.

Collaborating with our region

From design to delivery, we aim to address the most pressing challenges by collaborating with people with lived and living experience, family members and diverse communities that represent the mosaic of identities in our region.

We will create better connections and transitions for every individual who is accessing multiple services. We are grateful for our 20-plus partners, including hospitals, paramedics, police and other community health organizations that are working together to make care seamless.
